in physi... delta G = delta H - delta Sentropy change is negative9 in phy sorption for making gibbs free enrgy negative delta H must be negative

When absorbent reaches the surface of adsorbent the potential enegy of the system decreases as adsorbent is atracted by physical forces of  attraction. This decrease in potential energy is released by the system in form of heat.
