What is the optimum number of IIT-JEE mock tests that one should take with his preparation?
I'm talking about national sit-down tests & not home-based tests coz I'm already doing that. BT is providing 14 such tests this year. But my parents r not convinced. They're saying I need to do atleast 5 tests a week!
Please reply & tell me exactly what i have to do? I'm dropping a year & preparing for JEE 2009 through correspondence course along with HCV, ML Khanna.......etc

see as much as i know, no institutions provides 5 national tests in a week about the home based test if your theory is strong then you can go for abt 3 tests a week but if you not strong at your theory then there is no point in taking so many test in a week for think yourself those six hours that you spent you could have done some important theory however giving test is also important and for now abt 2 test a week should be enough and one more thing giving test is important but going through the paper and correcting your mistakes after the paper is over is more important this is just a suggestion, see what other goiitians have to say and then take a collective wise dicision

Thank you MUDIT!! :-)
I've made a schedule for this year & according to that I can finish the theory by the end of October. I will also be doing national part-tests & postal tests at these times.
So is it OK that I begin taking full-syllabus tests from December?
Coz I need to do the YG File questions during November/December. BT full-syllabus national tests start from December.

since you have already revised the full portion for your boards and other engineering exams you can start full test portion test even now right now i think 2 papers a week is the max you should solve and conc on theory hey but later on in the months of dec jan and feb do take as many test as possible maybe 3(max) 1(min) a week

But I'm unable to solve most JEE level problems for now, even though I've scored well in the boards. Thats why I've decided to take full-tests only after studying the JEE level theory.

thats absolutely fine but please solve as many problems as you can along with the theory as in jee they test your application of theory(problems) than the theory itself work hard and every thing should work out fine
