Hi everyone! I'm in clas XI now,and have not gone for any formal IIT coaching so far. I'd been preparing on my own,though I didnt take any correspondence either.Its only now that I feel I should have joined somewhere...I think I'll go next year. What I'd like to know is,is just one year sufficient for IIT preparation?I'm no genius,but my uptake is reasonably ok.If required I'll slog . So,do you think I should go ahead,or should I forget about IIT and try to get into another good college? I'd like the candid opinions of both experts and fellow students, Thanks!!!

ow come on...
u still gt 17 months wid u dude...
people are still thinking....5 months of sincere study can make them qualify JEE (2008)...u have got 17 months....if u work hard....u can clear
u said u r nt a brilliant student but see....forget wat u were in 10th....
some people score 90% in 10th bt cant qualify fr IIT....or some wid 70% work hard...qualify..
so WHERE THERE IS A WILL , THERE IS A WAY....
abhi se agar himmat haar gaye toh kya hoga...
just work hard....well i say join a correspondence only in 12th...
u said u can work hard....so else nothing is required fr IIT man...
have faith...work hard...give ur best...leave rest to God...

don't worry if u have'nt joined any coaching.....
read standard buks and if u r not able to solve then we all are here to help u.....n make u understand each and every thing u shd kno to qualify jee

soory about the last post, actually i had written quite a long reply and had submitted but there was something i had wanted to edit but wen i went for the option my post was gone(chk goiit guyz)
my reply in short was :
u have ample time, dont lose hope
join a coaching in 12th if u like, its fine
but for the time being, concentrate on ur eleventh, buy standard buks, practice ques, ask ur doubts here if u have none to ask
in coaching in 12th they will try to complete the syllabus of 11th and 12th in 1 yr so they will rush
if u r thorough with basic concepts of 11th, then u will have no prob there
