if really wanted to grow in organic chemistry properly follow J.SINGH of pragati prakasan it is good book for entrace examination.for good prectice in organic fiit jee study material is very good with good question bank.remember one thing properly that morisson-boyd or finar these are refrence book not book for reguler chapterwise study.i teach chemistery since 16 year with almost 600 selection in iit jee by this experiance o.p tondon is not good for organic o.k it is good for inorganic chemistry.i tell you take j.singh with sanyal book you will be rock.best of luck i m always with you.

Dude....morrison is a lengthy book but a reallllly awesome book if u know how to read from it........see, what u shud do is read NCERT/ or any other basic book first then keep it beside u when reading Morrison Boyd...now just see the topic from NCERT and read it from Morrison Boyd..for eg. if u r reading Alkyl Halides...just see the topic name ,say, Williamson's Synthesis.....then read it completely from Morrison Boyd then see next topic of NCERT and continue (this is what an IITian told me to do and it worx for me)

Look, Morisson and Boyd is the best book for organic. Now it is not expected of you to solve all the problems in one sittings... it is just not possible. The best way to do the problems is to first write all the reactions that you encountered, and read the theory, then attempt the problems. Also, quite a few of the problems require you to do some reference work... I just discovered that.

See for the last one week , i was down with organic study. almost completed it today only. what i have found is that FIITJEE material(correspondance)............. is really gr8 (it has extracts of all the gr8 books with nice examples) . So, if u have then try that. Else try girijesh dubey(GD) of MTG pub. (awesome book) with 150 pages of "how to approach organic probs." use morrison-boyd for reference only (like i used it to find strange compounds n unfamiliar reactions) . "i know that arihant's theory is quite insufficient ." at this high time go for the brief yet the best like GD . got it??
