A curve xy=1 is rotated about the x-axis through an angle of 2 $\pi$ radians. Find the volume of the resultant solid between the points (a,b) and (c,d) whichlie on the curve.

well i thaught that the ans was already there.any way i'll solve it now. $y=\frac{1}{x}\;the\;volume\;enclosed\;is\;given\;by\;\pi\int_{a}^{b}{y}^{2}\;dx$

$\pi\int_{a}^{b}\frac{1}{{x}^{2}}\;dx\;= \pi(\frac{1}{a}\;-\;\frac{1}{b})$

hey thanks for the answer but if the curve is a parabola, then how will solve the question.

that integral should be between a,c and not a,b
