FIRST put 1-X as T and then put 1-1/t as Y^2 and then solve the linear/quadratic thats easy
 
nways you need not always formula i feel derivation makes maths more enjoyable am i rite madness(sandeepramesh)!!!!

yes knowing formulas n all isnt sooooo good. Better methods are derivations. But anyway, that was the first think that struck my mind so i wrote it
