Find the value of -1 3 { lx-2l + [x] }.. where {} and [] denotes fractional and step functions of x.....plz answer fast....

can give u the method write the fractional part as (|x-2|+[x])-[|x-2|+[x]]
now keep splitting the intervals nd integrate .........

is it 7?
we use greatest integer function on a linear function
also after removing a function from GIF, slope of graph due to that =0
so the function takes slope equal tto that of second function (in this case 1)
it is discontinuous at all integral function
so we split into parts
-1->0
GIF=-1, |x-2| goes from 3->2
so f(x) goes from 2->1
0->1
GIF=0, |x-2| goes from 2->1
so f(x) from 2->1
1->2
GIF=1
|x-2| goes from 1 to 0
so f(x) from 2->1
2->3
|x-2| from 0 to 1
GIF=2
so f(x) from 2 to 3
so now we have 4 trapeziums in the graph
area= 1+0/5+1+0.5+1+0.5+2+0.5
=7

i took mod (x-2) ...sorry for the wrong symbols..
i meant it was |x-2|
