Multiply and divide the integrand by 2(sinx + cosx)

Now,
(sinx + cosx)2= 1 + sin2x
= 2 - (1-sin2x)
= 2 - (sin2x + cos2x - 2sinx.cosx)
= 2 - (sinx - cosx)2
Also,
2 - sin2x = 1 + (1 - sin2x)
= 1 + (sinx - cosx)2
Thus,

Put

Resubstituting t = (sinx - cosx),
