if u mean integration of tan^3 x
 
[ ][ ] tan3x
=tan x(sec2x-1)
=tanx sec2x-tan x dx
tan x=t,dt=sec2xdx
tdt-tanx dx
=tan2x/2 -log |sec x|

sec3x dx =  secx sec2x dx
tan x =t
sec2x dx = dt
sec x = 1+t2
use the formula for
 1+t2 dt = (t1+t2 )/2 + 1/2(log (t+1+t2) + c
