A healthy discussion. PLZ participate.........
None

Hey all,

I want to have a debate sort of thing between us on this topic-

Mahatma Gandhi V/s Bhagat Singh

How many of U think that Mahatma Gandhi's share in helping India to get freedom was more than Bhagat Singh's? Or vice versa?

How many of U believe that ''ahimsa'' is the right tool to snatch our independence from foreign hands? Or do U think that Bhagat Singh's revolutionary ideas are the right tool?

PLZ share with all of us, whom wud U have chosen as ur ideal if U were present in the era of Indian Freedom struggle? And WHY??

P.S.plz dont give replies like ''both are gr8'' or ''both played an imp. role in our freedom struggle''. I agree with this but still, plz choose one who U feel wud have been ur ideal.

bapuji was too gud---even stopped a movement coz of chauri chowra incident!

bhagat singhji was a bit impatient---coz a few bombs jus can neva stop a colonial power---!

i likd SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSEs way---gathered an army!---well equipped--so dat he cud atleast giv d country a fair chance--nd quicker independence too!

Bhagat Singh

I actually had participated in a real life debate about extremist vs satyagraha and i remember one person saying
"there is a thin line separating a person practicing satyagraha and when a person tries to be sticky, for us the latter can never be realised, consider urself to be of any other nation n ull realise how far the father of our nation had reached"

guyz temme one thing,

do u hold the British responsible for what happened in our pre 1947 period ?
do u have hatred towards the english now ? i have heard people say(for instance), "i'd rather have a maruti 800 than a rolls royce becuz its from the people who snatched our soil" n stuff

dun u think India is responsible ?
wudnt India do the same if it were a superpower ?

mahatama gandhi no not at all his ideas cud not create an ever lasting impact on mob as mr bhagat u see
it was mr bhagat u bought the common segment to show there mutiny britishers din stop eating or sleepin when mr gandhi was on his satyagraha but indeed turned restless on wat bhagat did though he also din eat for 55 days but bfore dat he had changed the picture of common segment!

yeah yeah i s c bose was d really organised hero!........but gandhi ji din supported him..............he was ziddi on his ways as well........
before d second round table conf..........if gandhi ji wished he cud have saved bhagat.....coz he really had mass before him n dats why british agreed to him........but he din do so.....coz bhagat singh was a rebel!........besides..........i feel gandhi ji delayed freedom......india was a big mass........oilence wud have done it easily............ppl died in gandhian way as well..........so i say...bhagat singh was not very plaaned.....n gandhin rules r gud personally but not to carry a revolution................so i support....finally bhagat........actually none of dem.............sc bose nehru(he was initially a rebel).....

yaar tarin....

lol....finally sumthing interesting...

yeah after that "god's  xistence  " issue...dis 1's the oder 1 we used 2 discuss at scool..highly controversial..but highly engaging...

and i'd any day go by bhagat singh....any damn day...

coz freedom can never be obtained by getting people standing in rows and getting beaten...its always attained by letting the rulers know...that how much we value and honour freedom and our country...

so bhagat singh by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr

and all those who gave their life's for it...

gandhiji was only a person who was our representative to the british..

the diff is like soldiers who fight( bhagat singh , rajguru n sukhdev) ...

and diplomats and politicians who converse and bhuk hartal n stuff...(gandhiji)...

Gandhi of course. Bhagat Singh's ideology was more effective in short term. It would never have got us independence that we have today, only violence and nothing else. Gandhi's didnt have so much impact in it but it was the only ideology which could work in a permanent manner.

it was gandhi who finally got us freedom
how can u forget his contribution

of course i dont support gettin beaten up n not raising a hand for self defense

but both gandhi n bhagat singh were extremists as far as there ideologies r considered...... isnt it

so the best said is that one shud be flexible n not extremists

atleast not like gandhi who stopped the powerful non cooperation movement (just for sum chauri chaura movmt......and who was hell bent to his ideologies of non violence)
