A and B meet after 10 years. A is mathematician. A asks B how many children do you have? B replies "i have 3 daughters."
A asks how old are they?B decides to plot a riddle to test A of his mathematical capabilities.B says the product of their ages is 36 and sum of their ages is equal to my house number, which he tells to A.A carefully notes down B's house number& then takes a moment to think, and replies that the data is insufficient. At this B provides anothr data that- my eldest daughter has blue eyes. After hearing this A immidiately replies B with correct answer.
If you were in place of A could you solve the problem?
IF yes, tell the correct ages and modus operandi.

the trick i saw was that the ans could have been 6,6,1. but since the ELDEST daughter has blue eyes, obvoiusly this ans is wrong, because there r 2 eldest here..
of the above 3, only ONE will add correctly to the house number.
GREAT SUM!!!!
shreyas
all wrong. da ans is 9,2,2.
here's how:
put down all cases of product being 36. now, da person knows da sum is da house no. so da 1 wid da given sum wud b da ans. but as he wants another clue da data is insufficient so da options wid da same sum are 1,6,6 and 9,2,2. in da third clue she says tht da eldest has blue eyes. in only 1 case is there an 'eldest'.
plz rate.
since he mentioned as eldest daughter(only one) and they met after 10 years , their ages may be
9,4,1
9,2,2
6,3,2
when we see in scientific way 2 childern willnot born in consecutive years so the options are
9,4,1
9,2,2
since twins are rare it may be 9,4,1
if answer is correct please vote for me

since b mentions that his eldest daughter has blue eyes and a immediately replies hence a has seen his eldest daughter perhaps 10 yrs ago hence answer is 12,3,1
