i m sure no one can answer it

u r given a 40 kg stone it drops on the ground and breaks in 5 pieces. tell the weight of these 5 pieces such that u can measure any desired weight upto 40 kg

according to me it's not posssible!!

if u hv 5 different wts then the max. no. of wts u can get is 31.

don't know how u can get all 40 wts!

Dude a pretty good question
the answer is
1 , 2 , 4 , 8 , 25
With the first four arrangement of 1,2,4,8
we can measure upto 15 kgs
now for 16kg measuring we can put the 16kg weigth on the other side along with more 9kgs ( can be any arrange ment like 1.8 )

and then the 25 kg stone in the measurement side so the weigth gets balanced .

so on we can keep on adding the weigths and measuring.

nice effort waterdemon.....
but gaurav seems have made a mistake.....it shud be 6 pieces only then its possible without needing any xtra weight

try the sane qn now the stone weighs 100kg and it gets divided in 6 pieces

Wow anithe rquestion of the same kind

I love doing the same type of questions bot more difficult than before

The stones can be in the

Following weights

1, 2 , 4 , 8 , 16 , 69

This can be done as follows

We can measure the weights from 1 to 31 kgs with the help of the

First 5 stones

And then to measure 32 kgs we can have 69 kg on the meauring

Side and then the32 kg + use of the five stones for adding 5kg extra to the balance which will help us measure

Then for measuring 95 kg we can take 69 , 16 , 8 , 2 Kg weigths.

And so on we can keep on measuring the weights.

absolutely dude tis a very famous questin
actually it was that 1050 rs are to be kept in bags so that we can get any denominations
how many such bags shld be made
