JOB OF EDUCATION MINISTER :
General
? Work under the oversight of the elders in the development and the administration
of the educational ministry.
? Report in person or in writing (quarterly) to the elders regarding the progress of
the educational ministry.
? Develop annual goals, objectives and or a growth plan for the educational
ministry.
? Develop the annual budget for the entire Bible school ministry and the Kid?s
Kingdom ministry.
? Coordinate and approve all promotional strategies for the Bible school ministry.
? Serve as the liaison between the elders and the department coordinators and
teachers.
? Develop a calendar and or make the necessary announcements regarding all
educational matters.
? Work with the coordinator of the children?s library to ensure that it is up to date.
? Work with the coordinator of the teacher?s workroom to ensure its success.
? Write a weekly article for the bulletin.
? Teach classes on Sunday and or Wednesday.
? Preach as needed in the absence of the pulpit minister.
? Serve as staff/office coordinator on a rotational basis.
Curriculum
? Plan the curriculum for the Bible school ministry with the assistance of the
department coordinators.
? Approve, order and distribute all materials which are used by the teachers at West
? Approve all new classes for the Bible school ministry.
? Publish class schedules and promote classes each quarter.
? Periodically survey the congregation for topics that would be helpful to study.
? Read, review and research curriculum, studies and class books for future use.
Teachers
? Recruit and schedule all teachers into our Bible school classes.
? Provide training classes or training opportunities for all teachers.
? Maintain current records of those who are teaching and those who wish to teach.
? Organize, plan and implement all teacher?s meetings for the educational ministry.
? Organize, plan and implement our annual teacher?s appreciation dinner and or the
distribution of a gift to all of our teachers.
? Maintain and analyze class attendance records looking for trends, etc.

? Coordinate periodic Bible school enrollment/attendance drives.
? Make sure each class has a back up teacher and a teacher helper.
? Research and or create teaching tools for individual use outside of scheduled class

? Help find effective methods of attracting people to the gospel and encouraging
them to become a Christian.
Coordinators
? Oversee the work of the department coordinators (preschool; elementary; adult;

? Work with the youth minister to coordinate the curriculum and the teaching
schedule for the junior high and senior high classes.
? Recruit department coordinators as needed when current coordinators resign or
are no longer performing their duties properly.
? Work with the Ladies Class coordinators in designing, selecting, organizing the
class and the curriculum.
Programs
? Plan all activities for our Kid?s Kingdom (K-5th grade) ministry.
? Organize, plan and execute our annual Summer Extravaganza (VBS).
? Organize, plan and execute our annual summer lecture series (F.A.C.T.S.:
Fellowship And Christian Training Series).
? Work with the coordinator of our F.A.C.T.S. dessert fellowships that take place
throughout the summer months.
? Serve as the liaison between the Playschool and the Bible school/education
ministry.
