2 current carrying wires may attract each other.
Physics
two current carrying wires may attract each other.in absence of other forces the wires will move towards each other increasing the kinetic energy. does it contradict the fact that the magnetic force cannot do any work and hence cannot increases the kinetic energy

Apologeis at jay ganesh...... Here the work is done by the cell it slf, through wich rods are connctd. Talking of field, thr is intraction btween same natured fields, bt in case of mgntic field, intraxn doesnt results in attraxn or repulsion. Use the frmula F = mu.i1.i2/2pied. Jst think whn i is same in both the wire thn net magntic field is zero at the centr, thn also attraxn taks place. So hw cud u say in the givn case tht magntic fields attract each othr..... I think this vll help uuuu

@co|\|c!/~y iIt ..................................Dude, it depends on the direction of current ..... and they are not same natured fields as Magnetic fields are either attractive or repulsive......Attraction only takes place when they are carrying current in same direction !!! as MAGNETIC FIELD DIRECTION is opposite.... use RIGHT HAND THUMB RULE !!! Hence, your arguement was pointless !!!!I think u got it ...... and dude, Intraxn of fields only lead to ATTRACTION OR REPULSION !!!!Thank you !!!

Ok.... Ganesh... U had nicly xplaind wt hd u knw. M appreciatng ur argumnt, thz basd on derivation fact. I think u wana say tht magntic fields attract or repel each othr....... If they do so they hv to do work. And mgntic field doesnt work..... Jst tell me wht is the net field between same currnt carying wire, in same dirction nd think in tht case whethr they move towrds each othr or not. The derivation facts reveals tht v r undrgoing to derive the force by choosing the two isolatd cases, in which v r considring only sigle field and hnce applying thumb rule......... Magntic field does nt work rathr its becz of cell tht works......

No, It does not contradict.
Basically, Wires dont attract. Their MAGNETIC FIELD attract or repel each other.
If two parallel wires have currents traveling in opposite directions, the magnetic fields generated by those currents between the wires will both point in the same direction, in this case, into the plane of the page.
However, if two parallel wires have currents traveling in the same direction, the magnetic fields generated by those currents between the wires will both point in opposite directions resulting in the wires attracting each other.
So, Magnetic force doesnot do the work . Its just the attraction or repulsion of MAGNETIC FIELD. Like, TWO NORTH POLES repel each other, so its just the repulsion of POLES and not that magnetic force has done some work !!!
THANK YOU !!
