conceptual question.

None

QUESTION 1

a vertical wire carries a current in an upward direction. an electron beam sent horizontally towards the wire will be deflected

1.TOWARDS RIGHT

2.TOWARDS LEFT

3.UPWARDS

4.DOWNWARDS

QUESTION 2

a proton beam is going from north to south and an electron beam is going from south to north.neglecting the earth's magnetic field the electron beam will be deflected

1.towards the proton beam

2.away from the proton beam

3.upwards

4.downwards

pls explain the working also... cheers!!

ans-3 (Upward)
the direction of magnetic fiel du to current carrying wire will be toward right!(using right hand thumb rule)
as electronic beam is going toward wire so by using right hand rule direction of forece on each electron will be in upward direction

Q-2 the siuation is equavalent to two conductores carrying current in same direction hence electron beam will be deflected toward the proton beam using right hand thumb and right hand rule for vector multyplication
