se solenoid is nothing but a coil of wire arround a soft metal and the metal becomes magnet for a whiile.......

hello........

when a current passes through a solenoid the lines of magnetic flux through the middle of the solenoid are parallel to the axis , so the magnetic fied is uniform.....thlines outside the soleniod are similar to thos eof a bar magnet .........its ends are behave like a bar magnet.......
