Cyclotron
None

Why can't a cyclotron be used to accelerate electrons?

bcoz electrojns hav small mass& a small inc. in energy of electron makes them to move with a very high speed. as a result, they quickly go out of step with oscillating E.Field
so, cyclotron is used to acc. heavy mass particles

It is because relativistic mass of electron increases very drastically when it approaches very high velocity.

Relativistic mass is given by = m = m0/  (1-v2/c2)
And due to this it becomes technically very difficult to keep the electron in the circular orbits of continuously  increasing radii (spiral) by simultaneously varying electric and magnetic fields.
