Can any one of you please help me Please:

why the tangent drawn to the lines of force in an electric field gives the accletation of the particle while the tangent drawn to the lines of force imerging from magnetic field gives the velocity?

#a charged particle is left to move freely on a non uniform electric field wouldn't move along the lines of force ,as the acccleration vector doesnot lie in the same plane as to the direction of lines of force[as compared to that in uniform electrical field,it would move along the line of force]

#While in contrary,if a monopole is left to move in a non uniform or uniform magnetic field,it would always move along the lines of force..

(Q)why the tangent drawn to the lines of force in an electric field gives the accletation of the particle
ANS) The elec. field lines show The direction of force experienced by the particle when kept at that particular point.
And the direction of force is same as direction of acceleration.
Because......... F =M * a [Mass is scalar]

ANS) I don't undertand what you mean by "lines of force"
you should say" lines of magnetic field".

yes i agree with nikhiljee2007 that there's nothing called magnetic "lines of force " bcoz velocity of particle in a magnetic field is perpendicular to force and not in the direction of force.....

Nikhil is perfectly right. Line of magnetic field gives direction of magnetic field. Thus the right statement about magnetic field lines would be that if a charge has a velocity along the line of magnetic field no magnetic forc will act on it

Thank You sir for clearing off my doubt, actually that was what i made the greatest mistake, comparing the whole thing to electrostatics...
i got it
