Yes.
Only when 1) When the particle has non-zero velocity. If the particle is at rest, then its always at rest. 2) When the magnetic field has a component perpendicular to direction of motion of particle.
If these 2 cases r satisfied, velocity changes. But speed never changes. That is, velocity changes becos direction changes.
