A long solenoid of radius a and number of turns per unit length n is enclosed by cylindrical shell of radius R, thickness d (d<<R) and length L. A variable current i=i0sin wt flows through the coil. If the resistivity of the material of cylindrical shell is p(rho), find the induced current in the shell.

mag field inside solenoid, B=uni
B=unisinwt
this field is changing in area of solenoid, A=a^2
flux, =BA = unia^2sinwt
emf induced,
e=-d/dt = -unia^2wcoswt

area of shell = 2Rd, length=L, resistivity=p
then resistance, R=pl/a
R=pL/2Rd

so induced current, I=e/R

tell me if m corrct or not..

Nope. The answer is wrong.
The correct answer is

I = ( u0ni0 coswt)a^2(Ld) /2R?

Still a salute for ya

Experts pls help...

RHD in the shell the current will flow axially so area of cross section is L*d and lengt of path is 2*pi*R.

With this you will get right answer
