Can an e.m. wave be polarized?

The term polarization refers to the orientation of the plane of the disturbance in a transverse wave.
  • Light and all electromagnetic waves can be polarized.

Light consists of em waves oscillating in different directions. If these waves are forced to oscillate in a particular direction light is said to be polarized.
