1.A semicircular wire of radius 5.0 cm carries a current of 5.0 A.A magnetic field B of magnitude 0.50 T exists along the perpendicular to the plane of the wire.Find the magnitude of the magnetic force acting on the wire.
2.A wire carrying a current i is kept in the X-Y plane along the curve y =A sin[2 x/lambda].A magnetic field B exists in the z-direction .Find the magnitude of the magnetic force on the portion of the wire between x=0 and x=lambda.

Destiny is no matter of chance.It is a matter of choice.It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. |

Force on a current carrying wire placed in a magnetic field is given by :
F = i(dlxB)
In case of semi-circular loop dl = AB (vector along the diameter AB) Since AB and B are perpendicular, |ABxB| = (AB)(B)
So magnitude of force = i(AB)B
F = (5)(0.1)(0.5) = 0.25 N
