it shows the relation between B and H where I is the intensity of magnetisation and and effectively helps one to find out the magnetic substance to be used whether in transformer or as a permanent magnet or in elctromagnets etc depending on its area enclosed the retitvity coercivity!!!!

If you have high retentivity then material is good for permanent magnet and if it is low it is good for electro magnet.
If the area of the hysteresis curve is small it is a good material for transformer
