2 balls of same mass are shot upwards one after other at an interval of 2s , along the same vertical line with the same intial velocity of 39.2 m/s . They will collide at the height ?

For the first particle, the y coordinate (measured from the projection point is) y1 = ut + (1/2)gt2 and for the second particle it is y2 = u(t-2) + (1/2)g(t-2)

2

When they collide, y1 = y2 . Solve this equation to get the value of t and substitute in any of the equations to get the height
