A HUNTENT AIMS HIS GUN AND FIRES A BULLET DIRECTLY TOWARDS MONKEY SITTING ON A DISTANT TREE AT THE INSTANT THE BULLET LEAVES FROM BARAL OF GUN THE MONKEY DROP FROM THE TREE FREELY WILL THE BULLET HIT THE MONKEY?HOW?

Yes it will hit as monkey also has acc towards ground as g and same is the acc fr the bullet...Hence it will hit...Use eq. of motion and the bullet doenst go straight it follows parabolic path...rate me if useful...

Both the bullet & the monkey experience only accel. in the vertical direction....

 

If both start their respective motions @ the same instant.....

 

 For the bullet -----   x = (usin@) t -1/2gt2

 

& fr the monkey ------  (H-x) = 1/2gt2

 

Solving those two equations fr x & t will give the desired result of whether or not the bullet will hit n if so then @ at wht time n location....

It wud finally give ...... t = Sqrt{H/usin@}

 

&  x = H{1- g/(2usin@)}

"in a projectile motion , x and y directions are independent of each other" .........

as the bullet is released at the instant when monkey starts his fall........so it would be a direct hit........monkey dies!!!!!!

yes it will hit because monkey n bullet are at same position after a time..
