A solid uniform sphere of mass 'm' and radius 'a' is free to rotate about a diameter and it is so fixed to a point o at a distance R  from its center C on a horizontal surface that the sphere rolls without slipping along the circumference of a circle of radius R on the surface angular velocity of C is omega .what is the kinetic energy

linear velocity of contact point of sphere is wR


since doesnt slip angular velocity of sphere abt its centre = wR/a


so translational energy = 1/2 * m * (wR)^2


rotational energy = 1/2 * 2/5ma^2 * (wR/a)^2


7/10 m*R^2
