The orbital velocity of an artificial sattelite in a circular orbit just above the earth surface is 'v'. For a satellite orbiting at an altitude of half the earth's radius, the orbital velocity is

a. 3/2 v                                                       b.  (3/2)  v

c. (2/3) v                                                    d. (2/3) v

Hi

V0= ( G*M / R)
V0' = ( G*M/  (3R/2)  )
                                    V0' / V0 (2/3)
therefore
                 V0' = ( 2/3)  V0 ,
Hence  c) is the right answer.

Cheers!
