In pulley problems..you can use the t.v method.. i.e. The total work done by internal forces is zero..hence you can get the relation between the displacements and differentiating it you get the relations btwn velocities..

1. indentify the ropes
2. identify each segment of a rope.
3. for the polleys, blocks, etc fixed at thje ends of the ropes, assign arbitrary acceln in preferably same direction
4. if the distance detween the segments of the strings appear to increase, find the relative acceln between the two ends and assign it + sign, else -sign
5. each string will give a single equation whose solution provides the constraint relation

it is not important where u stand, but in which direction u are moving |

use this simple formula for constraints...
foa the whole system where a= acceleration, velocity oir displacement and * stands for DOT PRODUCT meaning a cos x term will also appear where x is angle between a and T and T is tension of all strings and their resp acc, vel, displacement is a... this is VERY rare formula derived using work energy and calculus. can be used everywhere... enjoy and plzzz rate.
