A bobbin with thread wound round it is on a horizontal table and it can roll without sliding. If the end of the thread is pulled with a velocity 'v' in the horizontal direction, what is the velocity of the axis of the bobbin? Radius of inner cylinder-r " " outer cylinder-R. Please help... Rates assured(for previous questions also !! :-) )

The answer is: vR/R+r

Hmm... okay.. let me try this one
Edit - okay I think I am a bit confused with the linear velocity of a particle on the periphery. For a disc, V(at periphery) = V(cm) + Rw right?

Can someone explain clearly what is a bobbin? Is it a cylinder wound with thread simply or the thread is wound on it in a zigzag way?

let vel of axis is v1 and its angular speed be w for pure rolling, v1-wR=0 or w=v1/R velocity of thread with inner radius r = v that means v1+wr=v or v1+v1r/R=v this gives v1=vR/(R+r)
if u don't understand, i will give u a figure for this

Please give the figure. I don't know exactly what a bobbin is?

Oh lol... I was thinking that the string is being pulled from the top of the bobbin. Didnt know that it was pulled from the middle. Good work mate
