Bungee jumping

A man jumps off a 20 m high bridge using an elastic bungee cord of unstretched length 10 m. The jump is so designed that the man at the lowest point would just touch the water, and be yanked back up. Find the period, in seconds, of simple harmonic motion that would result.Find the length in meters of a simple pendulum with this same period. Eventually, when the oscillations have ceased, a winch is used to bring the man back to the bridge in 7 seconds. Determine the speed of the winch in meters per second. The winch has a power rating of 1/4 hP. Determine the mass of the man.

8.88 sec. 1.21m 32.1m/s2
