A Body of mass m is subjected to motion along the periphery of a polygon of 2n sides. What is the impulse experienced by it at each vertex of the polygon?

Please Show How To Solve....

assumption :

It is a regular polygon and the body of mass 'm' moves with const speed 'v'

method:

angle made @ each corner = n-1/n * 180

wen it moves along  1 side the mom is mv=p...

now this mv is brought to 0 and 'mv' is provided along another side...so impulse experienced is the addn of 2 vectors of mag mv wid an angle of n-1/n * 180 between them

=

rt( p^2 + p^2 + 2p^2cos(n-1/n *180))

just find the change in momentum at each point.. that wil b equal 2 the impulse acting on the body at that point....

Let the angle subtended between 2 consecutive sides b thita..
now the change in velocity=2vcos(thita/2)

now put the value of thita n get the answer......

can u tell me how u got this step
now this mv is brought to 0 and 'mv' is provided along another side...so impulse experienced is the addn of 2 vectors of mag mv wid an angle of n-1/n * 180 between them
