when a simple pendulum having heavy metal bob is hanging , the string not breaks.

but, when it performs oscillations , string breaks!!!!!!!!!!!

what is reason for that???????

plz help me!!!!!!!!

See when it is in motion,

a centrifugal force of mag=mv²/r is developed .

so tension becomes

T=mg+mv²/r

instead of mg

So when breaking stress is crossed, the string breaks

I totally agree with Akhil.

When set in motion the centrifugal force contributes to the tension of the string and if it crosses breaking stress the string breaks.
