in this type of question keep in mind that when two identical balls concides , they move apaprt in normal directions with respect to each other .... use this and you'll get the answer !! if still any confusion .. reply here

 the velocity of ball 1 after collision is

v1=(1-e)/2*u1

v2=(1+e)/c*u1

given v2=2v1

2-2e=1+e

e=1/3
