usually in such probs the no.of constraint eqns= no of strings in the system.
consider a simple pulley system with masses m1 & m2 take the centre of pulley as reference. take x1 & x2 as the lengths of the strings connecting the masses..then as x1 + x2=constant differntiate wrt to time
v1+v2=0  and a1+a2 =0  OKAY thats the way.... TELL ME WHICH PROB (MAY BE FROM HC VERMA) IS GOOD ....lemme crack it

Well Nishant, you must understand that this forum is for answering only one question in a post. And a problem on any topic can vary from very simple to very complex. So you should always ask a poblem depending on your own level of understanding instead of giving a specific topic.

ok Guyz i'd give a good question for you

In the pulley system shown in the figure A,B,C are of mass 1kg each.D,E are fixed pulleys.The strings are light and inextensible.

Find the tension in the string.Also find the accelerations of the pulleys A,B,C.

tension will be same in all the string parts as it forms a common string, then write down force equations !!

The answer I have got is
T=(2g/3) newtons
accelerations of,
A=B=g/3 downwards
C=g/3 upwards
Solution:
let accelerations  of A,B,C be a1,a2,a3 respectively<all assumed to be downward>,
The constraint equation involved is a1+a2+2a=0
The force equations for A,B,C respectively are
 A: T=a1 + g
 B: T=a2 + g
 C: 2T=a3 + g
 that solves the problem!
