I think the ans is 10.My method is assume each adult wt to be x and each child to be y.

So,capacity=18x=30y   so,3x=5y

when 12 adults are inside,capacity=18x=12x+ky.this gives k=10.
MAKING A MISTAKE IS HUMAN BUT REPEATING IT IS IDIOTIC.
