if 3 satellites each of mass 3000kg are at vertices's of an equilateral triangle such that they are geostationary and cover whole planet
if radius of planet is 65000 km
and mass of planet is 5 *10^11kg
then find the length of the side of triangle

well we might neglect grav. attraction between satelites

bcos they have very small mass compared to earth

now if we dun then we also hve to include thm fnd net gravitaional frce on 1 satellite.....it will be in radial direction of earth.....

thus balancing it wid mv^2/r'........here r'=/= R radius of earth we get 1 rel.

also it is given that we they r geostationary ...... so time period is 24 hrs...

imples (2 pie r') /v = 24 hrs.....

using these two wecan fnd r' and thus sides can be calc. using tigonometry

how can u take time period for rotation is 24 hr?it not the earth
