a cylindrical tank has a small hole of 1 cm2 at its bottom. If water is allowed 2  flow  into it at 70 cm3/s,then d max height upto which water will rise is? (Pls do tel me d method also)

it goes lyk dis
speed of water thru d hole when water is at height h is=root 2gh xA
at max water level speed of water thru hole =speed of water entering vessel
2cm 3/sec=1cmXroot 2gh
calculate
n u get 25 cm i suppose

2.45 cm.
max height will be achieved when rate of inflow = rate of outflow
70 = (sqrt(2gH)*100)*1

well, the velocity will be in m/s, wont it? U need to multiply by 100 to get it in cm/s

yeah hes rite

when velocity of inflow is equal to velocity of outflow there is no change in height and therefore it corresponds to the max height!!!

well, for the height to be constant, rate at which water is entering should be equal to the rate at which water is leaving. If more water is entering, height of water will increase. If more water is leaving, height of water will decrease.

the ans is 2.45m. The ans is as follows

h=u^2/2g
  =70X70/2X10
 =245cm
 =2.45m
