Hi,

The three vessels shown in the figure have the same base area. Equal volumes of a liquid are poured in the three vessels. The force on the base will be

(A) Maximum in the first Vessel
(B) Maximum in the second vessel
(C) Maximum in the third vessel
(D) equal in all vessels.

My doubt is.. Will any force act on the base due to the weight of the fluid or will the force be only due to the pressure?

the answer is c
as equal volumes r poured and base area is same the ht occupied by liquid in 3rd vessel will be max. as pressure is rho.g.h so 3rd vessel will have highest pressure due to greatest ht.

4 ur doubt the pressure is itself due to density which is related with weight.
i mean to say that pressure is indirectly caused due to weight.
so force at the bottom will be due to both!
