These type of problems are common:
A car is moving with velocity v1 . When it is at a distance x from a vertical wall, a fly initially at rest, starts flying with velocity v2 (v2>v1) and flies till the windshield and retreats. it continues this till the car comes near the wall and makes a 90 degree turn.Find the no. of trips the fly makes.Assume both are at uniform velocity.
I got the answer as infinite no of times.
SO CAN WE MAKE A GENERALIZATION THAT IF V2>V1, THEN THE FLY CAN MAKE INFINITE NO OF TRIPS, AND IS THIS POSSIBLE IF V1.V2.
I THINK NO.
