there's no specific rule .........first u hav to choose the axis....if u choose down as +ve axis then for object coming down the g is +ve but if  u take upward as +ve x axis then the 'g' acting will be negative...............the ans in both the cases will be same.......do rate me dude........cheers..!!!!!!
