A body of mass 2kg is lying on a rough inclined plane of inclination 30 degree. Find the magnitude of the force parallel to the incline neede to make the block move a) up the incline   b) down the incline s=0.2

1)up the incline
as both the mass and friction will act downward the required force will be the sum of these forces along the incline
F=mgsin30+u(mgcos30)
=2*9.8*.5 + .2*2*9.8*root(3)/2
=13.2N

2) down the incline
this force will be the frictional force - weight acting along the incline
=.2*2*9.8*cos30 - 2*9.8*sin30
=-6.4N
threfore you need not apply any force
force = 0
