A gardener waters the plants by a pipe of diameter 1 mm. The water comes out @ 10 cc/s. Find reactionary force exerted on the hand of the gardener.

area*velocity= 10 cc/s...
area we have from the diameter
so velocity is calculated

in case you dont know this

volume rate of flow=area*velocity [ its obvious]

@ ganesha:
consider lik this...let the water move linearly thru a dist x...
now the vel will be dx/dt
v know tht in 1 sec volume of water flowing thru pipe is 10cc
so dV/dt=10
but V=A*x where A is cross-sectional area n x is the dist mopved linearly(picture it lik a cylinder)
so dV/dt=A.dx/dt
so v get the velocity
n then v use thrust force =vdm/dt 2 solve the prob
