If the radius of earth were to shrink by 1%, its mass remaining the same, the accelertaion due to gravity on earth's surface would

a. increase by 1% b. increase by 2%

c. decrease by 1% d. decrease by 2%.

g = G*M / R².

g / g = -2 *

R / R = -2 * 1 % = - 2 %

Hence g will decrease by 2 % . Option d is right.

Ans is (b). It can be solved like this.

R^-2

Therefore, %g = -2%R

R decreases by 1%, therefore,

%g= (-2%)(-1)

=2%

Hence it increases by 2%

because banks of river are toooo close as compared to sea or we can say that sea is wide but not river .
now, wats the ht of tide in sea which is extreamly large as compared to river, its in mts. or some K.M. hence there are no tides in da river
