A body was initially in rest.It travelled 2m in 1sec.So its velocity is now 2m/s and acceleration is 2m/s^2.The body continues in 2m/s^2 acceleration.But when we use the equation S=ut+1/2 at^2,

ie,

S=0+0.5*2*1*1

So,

S=1 m

But here the displacement is 2m.How this happens.

The formula S=ut+1/2 at^2 is only for constant acceleration . If the acceleration changes with time, this cannot be used.

Here the acceleration is not constant. the increase in velocity is 2m/s but (increase in velocity )/( time taken ) will give only the average acceleration.It does not mean that the acceleration was 2 m/s^2 from the time it started till the end.
