The derivative is a measurement of how a function changes when the values of its inputs change. For a real-valued function of a single real variable, the derivative at a point equals the slope of the tangent line to the graph of the function at that point.
Summation is the addition of a set of numbers; the result is their sum.
eg : [k=1]
[n] k3 = 13 + 23 + 33 + ........ + n3
Here k varies from 1 to n and for each value of k. k3 is evaluated and these values are summed up to get the resultant sum.

if u r given a large part and u r considering only the infinitely small part ..use diff...and thereafer if u want 2 consuider the effect on the entire part use integration.....
