Here is a small mock test, and I hope they will help you gauge your preparation for the upcoming JEE. The solutions have been worked out by me, and there is no fault whatsoever in any question.
Marking scheme: +10 for correct answers
-7 for wrong answers
For the bonus question : +10 for the right answer, -10 for the wrong answer. You may attempt it if you want to score higher. It is not compulsory.
1. A stone attached to a rope of length 80cm is rotated in a vertical plane with a speed of 240 rpm. At the moment when the velocity of the stone is directed vertically upwards, the rope snaps. To what height does the stone rise?
a)25m b) 20.48m c) 26.57m d) 23.58m
2. A block of mass 1 kg lying on the floor is subjected to a horizontal force of 2sinwt Newtons. If the co efficient of friction between the block and the floor is 1/4, what is the acceleration of the block?
a) positive and uniform b) zero c) positive and non uniform d) it will depend on the value of w.
3. A particle is projected with a velocity u, at an angle @ with the horizontal. At what time its vertical component of velocity becomes half of its net speed at the highest point?
a) u/2g b) u(sin@-cos@)/2g c) u(2cos@-sin@)/2g d) u(2sin@-cos@)/2g
4. A particle oscillates according to the equation x = 10sin(0.5 t). the speed of the particle when it is at a distance 4m from mean position is:
a) 2 / 3 b) 4 c) 2 d) none of these (in case symbols are missing, it is pi)
5. In a regular polygon of n sides, each corner is at a distance r from the center. Identical charges of magnitude Q are placed at (n-1) corners. The magnitude of electric field at the center is:
a) kQ/r2 b) (n-1)kQ/r2 c) (n-1/n)kQ/r2 d) zero
6. A charged particle of mass m and charge q enters a region of uniform magnetic field B directed along the z axis with a velocity v along the x axis. It describes
a) A complete circle of radius mv/Bq
b) a semi circle of diameter 2mv/Bq
c) it will emerge without any deflection
d) An arc of radius mv/Bq subtending an angle of /4 at the center.
7. A man holding a sound source at the top of a tower emitting frequency of sound as 1000Hz. Suddenly it slips from his hand and falls down with an acceleration = g (10m/s2). The frequency of sound heard by the man at t=4sec is: (c = 320m/s. For the people who have sent me the answers with c = 332m/s, I will mark them according to the modified answer, so don't worry. However, if they wish, they can send me the new answer with c = 320m/s)

BONUS QUESTION
One fourth length (ie, l/4, not one fourth of the whole length) of a uniform rod of length 2l and mass m is placed on a horizontal table and the rod is held horizontal. The rod is released from rest. Find the normal reaction on the rod as soon as it is released.

YOUR BONUS QUESTION SEEMS TO BE WRONG...ITS SAYING ONE FOURTH OF LENGTH 2L THEN IT SHUD BE L/2 NAA...BUT IT IS SHOWING L/4

Question is perfectly right sniper. See, it doesnt say one fourth of the entire rod. a part l/4 is hanging down. In case the language is confusing, refer the figure. Mind you, the rod is not hanging on its center.
Note - my figure is not exactly to scale. That is, a larger part of the length seems to be smaller in my figure, so take note.
