the zero gravity research facility at the NASA leis research center includes a 145 m drop tower.this is an evacuated vertical tower through which among other possibilities ,a 1m daimeter sphere containing an experimental package can b dropped
(a)how long is the sphere in free fall?
(b)wat is its speed just as it reaches a cathing device at the bottom of the tower?
(c)when caught the sphere experiences an avg deceleration of 25 gm as it speed is reduced to zero .through wat dist it travel during the deceleration?

1] 5.44 secs
2] 53.31 m/s
3] deceleration of 25gm?? thats the wrong unit....
Simple kinematics

First of all the paragraph is about zero gravity drop tower. So how can there be free fall when there is no gravity? Unless you give the sphere some initial velocity,it doesn't go down the tower. The initial velocity is not mentioned. So there is no question of deceleration. And I didn't get the unit of deceleration mentioned in part c of the question(Anyway the question is wrongly framed).
Please recheck the question.I think it is wrong.

Well.. its mentioned that its a zero gravity research institute - not a zero gravity drop tower... i went through the language quite a lot to confirm that.... :)

May be.If what you've said is right then there is nothing in the question.

But it was said "the zero gravity research facility at the NASA leis research center includes a 145 m drop tower".if the zero gravity research facility includes the tower theneven the tower has no gravity naa .then how can the ball fall down.
