Two ships A and B originally at a distance 'd' from each other depart at the same time from a straight coastline. Ship A moves along a straight line perpendicular to the shore while ship B constantly heads for ship A, having at each moment the same speed as the latter. After a sufficiently great interval of time the ship will obviously follow that first one at a certain distance. Find the distance.
. Ans = d/2

The coastline is straight and the ships are located at a distance 'd'. One ship moves Perpendicular to the coast line and the 2nd ships moves towards the former...

Q.1 Pls solve the previous one.
Q.2 A plank of mass m1 with a bar of mass m2 placed on it lies on a smooth horizontal plane. A horizontal force growing with time t as F= at ( a is constant) is applied to the bar. Find out how the accelerations of the plank w1 and of the bar w2 depend on t, if the coefficient of friction between the plank and the bar is equal to k. Draw the approx. plots of these dependencies.
Ans2 : When t t0, the accelerations w1 = w2 = at/ (m1+m2); When t>t0, w1=kgm2/m1 and w2 = (at-km2g)/m2 .... here t0=kgm2(m1+m2)/am2

t0 comes up in the answer itself. There's no t0 in the question. The motion changes after the time t0. Thats why it has been brought to use! Plz solve the questions!!
