1) 25g = m (g+a)
250 = 20 (10 + a)
a = 2.5 m/s^2

2) limiting friction is maximum

Limiting friction is that friction if you exceed it then it converts to kinetic friction and body starts moving.So it is maximum.

max value of static friction is limiting friction and just beyond that, motion starts, and kinetic friction is less than it. Experimentally observed.
