I think the answer is (C). If it is correct, then I'll give you the solution (if required).

This is when the blocks just start moving.....

V hav.....  2g = T+ 2a

           =>2g = (6a) + 2a   =>  a= 2g/8 =20/8 m/s2

This will b the initial acc. of the blocks....

CASE 2)When the full string is pulled dwn

The equation bcomes...

=>T' + 2a' = 2g + g

=>6a' + 2a' = 3g

=> a' =3g/8 = 30/8 m/s2

That is the final acceleration...

So option  (b) shud b correct....

Hope u understand.....Rates welcome....

in da 1st case.... the cord n the trolley can b considered together as a system n the tension @ the rite end f the cord pulls the system....so, we get: T = 6a and 2g - T = 2a or a = 2g/82nd case, we hve the trolley @ the pulley.... and the load and cord can be considered as a system...so, we get, T= 5a1 and 3g - T = 3a1 or a1= 3g/8.Jst we need to see dat tensions on both sides of da cord r unequal... dat wud do it....cheers
